01
If no new moves appear
- 1
Open Competitors and confirm the company still has active sources.
- 2
Open each source URL in your browser and confirm it remains public and relevant.
- 3
Use Re-scan for new pages if the competitor redesigned its site.
- 4
Remember that the first successful check establishes a baseline and may not create a move.
- 5
Allow for the scheduled monitoring interval; SoWhatHQ is not a second-by-second crawler.
02
If a source is blocked or stale
- Replace redirected or deleted URLs with the current canonical page.
- Prefer RSS, changelog, newsroom, or specific product pages over high-noise homepages.
- Some sites block automated access or render everything client-side; a normal browser view does not guarantee monitorability.
- Do not repeatedly add duplicate versions of the same failing URL.
03
If evidence exists but analysis is missing
Generation can fail safely without losing the underlying change. The system records bounded retry information and reconciliation can fill eligible items later. If the source evidence is present, you can still inspect and act on it while analysis recovers.
