Connect and use HubSpot

Sync competitive deal outcomes and surface SoWhatHQ context inside HubSpot.

What the integration provides

  • Imports competitive deal outcomes into ROI & impact.
  • Matches a HubSpot deal’s competitor value to a company on your SoWhatHQ watchlist.
  • Keeps deal outcomes fresh through signed webhooks plus daily reconciliation.
  • Shows recent moves, recommended actions, battlecards, and approved messaging in a HubSpot deal sidebar card.
  • Lets a rep explicitly add useful competitive material to the SoWhatHQ evidence trail.
02

What SoWhatHQ can access

SoWhatHQ reads deal records and deal-property definitions. It has narrowly limited schema write access so it can create and maintain a SoWhatHQ-owned competitor dropdown when your portal does not already have a credible competitor property. It does not request permission to write deal records and does not read contacts for this workflow.

Connect HubSpot

  1. 1

Make sure the workspace is on an eligible plan and you are an owner or administrator.

  2. 2

Open Settings → Integrations and choose Connect HubSpot.

  3. 3

Select the correct HubSpot account and review the requested permissions.

  4. 4

Approve access and return to SoWhatHQ.

  5. 5

Wait for automatic property discovery/provisioning and the first sync.

  6. 6

Confirm the card shows Connected and review the scanned, matched, and unmatched counts.

04

Identify the competitor on a deal

  1. 1

    Open a HubSpot deal.

  2. 2

Find the existing competitor property selected by SoWhatHQ, or the SoWhatHQ Competitor property it created.

  3. 3

Choose the competitor involved. The option should correspond to a company on your SoWhatHQ watchlist.

  4. 4

Save the deal. The webhook normally refreshes the outcome; Sync now can reconcile it manually.

05

How matching works

Matching is deterministic and conservative. SoWhatHQ normalizes common company and legal suffix variations but does not invent attribution. Values that cannot be matched are reported as unmatched so you can correct the deal or watchlist without contaminating ROI data.

06

Reconnect, sync, or disconnect

  • Reconnect permissions after SoWhatHQ adds a newly required limited scope or HubSpot revokes authorization.
  • Use Sync now after correcting old deals or when you want immediate reconciliation.
  • Disconnect to revoke the integration best-effort and remove stored workspace credentials.
  • Reconnect after moving to a different HubSpot portal.
